If you are like me, then you are sick and tired of all the negative news being thrown at you by the mainstream media outlets. Pick any major online news outlet and you will find the majority of items are about the ever sinking economy, Iraq or someone’s unfortunate death.
Some might argue that reading about people who have it worse can make you feel better about yourself, but I really do not think that is true.
I recently spent one work week (5 days) forcing myself to only get my news from positive news network sites. Believe it or not, there are lots of them out there. Instead of performing my morning work ritual of “catching up” with the world by looking at the big media news outlets, each day I would challenge myself to find a positive news website that “inspired me”.
By the end of the week, I was noticeably brighter and more optimistic. My family and a few friends remarked on it. They were curious to know what I might be taking.
I would like to share with you the top 4 websites that I found that week. Check them out and if you feel particularly inspired, try swapping one out with your usual online new source.
Amazing News – “Amazing News was started as a way to give you a place to come to read about what is good in the world. But good things are happening out there in the world and we are dedicated to bringing it to our readers.”
Good News Network – The Good News Network® was founded by Geri Weis-Corbley, in 1997 with a passion to serve humanity in doses of positive news. Magician Turns $1 Into $100 for People in Need……..(this came from Happy News)
Magician Stuart Edge isn’t pulling rabbits out of his hat—he’s pulling $100 bills and giving them to homeless people and others in need. Earlier this week, the Utah-based magician withdrew $1,000 from his own savings account, combed his neighborhood for people in need, and offered to show them a magic trick.
It works like this: Edge shows the person a $1 bill, folds it, and places it inside his or her hand. Then, he takes out a $100 bill, folds it, and asks the person to hold it in the same hand and make a fist.
Then, Edge reaches into his or her hand hand to pull out a bill, which is somehow always the $1 bill.

GOOD NEWS FLASH!
It’s not every day that you’re asked to flash your happiest expression for a giant sidewalk camera, but that’s what lifestyle website Soul Pancake did for its latest YouTube video about sharing joy with others.
The video features passerby stopping to pose for the site’s enormous sidewalk camera, emblazoned with the words “Snap your joy.” The photos of happiness then set off a chain reaction of smiles when they’re posted next to the camera for all to stop and admire.
Almost all the news articles published on all available media channels are negative without the appropriate relation to the good things that happens in our world. Those sources of light can be found everywhere but mostly they stay in the shadow. – start your day with Good Mood and a smile.
