The month of March means the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, and whether or not you’re Irish, this is a fun day to celebrate!

Every year on March 17, millions of people gussy themselves up in green attire, hold big parades all in the name of an old Irish saint.

Bet You Didn’t  Know Some Of These Fun Facts ?

1962 marked the first time Chicago dyed their river green for St Patrick’s Day. It takes 40 tons of dye to get the river to a suitably festive shade!

Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.

Your odds of finding a four-leaf clover are about 1 in 10,000.

Another little-known fact from Irish lore: Leprechauns earned that gold they’re guarding. According to legend, leprechauns spend their days making and mending shoes. It’s hard work, so you can’t blame them for being territorial about their pots of gold.

If, by chance, one did happen to find a mystical pot at the end of a rainbow this St. Patrick’s Day, and it contained 1,000 gold coins weighing one ounce each, WalletHub estimated the total current worth at $1.26 million.
